After reading !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ’s post I am wondering if the reverse is true. A car that’s best used as an engine supply.
Perhaps an AMC rust machine with a 4.0?

I’m not sure why you think the c6 is a questionable car.

Solid engine but in a softly-sprung chassis weighing 4200 pounds:
Pagani knew what was up and used the V12 in the Zonda.

Boy ... I’m really not sure I can classify that as a good engine haha. I mean I know it make a Neon haul some ass.

On another note, I find it amusing how many GM products are popping up here.

Yes, this car makes no sense as a whole.

Dodge Ram with a Cummins.
Because there’s a reason why “Fummins” and “Chummins” are words.

The 3.5L V6 is wonderful engine, shame the platform it’s with is terrible, and with shit transmission.

I’m not, LOL.
GM’s M.O. for a while was to have a good engine/powertrain and then say fuck it.

Most of General Motors pre-2014. Why do you think so many LS engines are readily available?

Not surprising though, apart from the fact that people think the 3800 is good in a way other than in a “it keeps running whether you want it to or not” way. By that logic, my old Hyundai G4GF is best engine.

I say this as the owner of a 12-year-old Envoy that has 120k miles and is still going strong mechanically.
The interior on the other hand...

No, but still amusing. Like people are going “yeah, ok, I’ll admit they make good engines, but only because I can say the car is crap.”
Run like sh*t longer than most run at all etc.

That is our 2004 Envoy to a T. The engine/trans/chassis have been solid as a rock. The materials and build quality have been junk.

A LOOOONG while. (Case in point--my truck. “This thing ain’t getting good reviews!! Quick!!! V8!!!! ...not complaining.) It’s still looking like their central focus even though they’ve picked up in other areas now.

Can other small/cheap cars do this and still be able to move and/or not bottom out the suspension? I think not!

I have heard that these engines are amazing but never really dug into why. Would you mind further explanation, as I have been in a couple rented TBs and never really cared for them.

It was the blending of old school and new school, like if you took the AMC 4.0, and went all million dollar man on it
Modern power + Old school durability

MK4 GLI/GTI VR6.
These V6 engines scream like no other 6 cylinder engines and provide decent punch at 200 naturally aspirated HP as well as being one of the most reliable motors the company has built. The car around it though has been constantly called the worse era of VW, but the engines in them are what makes them worthwhile IMO.
